Case Study 1
Woolton House
Defence of £150,000 Claim from Project managers in respect to renovation and alteration of an 18th Century Country House. Work involved opening up works, redesign of details, new lime rendering and site monitoring. Evidence collection and expert evidence reports.
Outcome: Successful out of court counter claim for £250,000 and remedy of all damp penetration problems.
Case Study 2
Abbey Wood Offices
Flooding on the roofs of modern office buildings at the Abbey Wood site was thought to be a syphonic drainage malfunction. Investigation and potential litigation preparation was required.
Work involved investigating and testing the design and installation on 9 buildings and recommending appropriate action.
Outcome: Details were re designed and work carried out by the original contractor. The maintenance contract was re negotiated and simplified to ensure regular gutter clearing.
Case Study 3
Dispute with National House Builder
The top bedrooms of a two year old detached property were very cold in winter. Client requested a detailed investigation of the property after discussions with the developer had broken down.
Opening up works were initiated and all aspects of the property were compared to specifications and building regulations.
Outcome: A tabulated form was drawn up differentiating between work not done to specification and work not in compliance with building regulations. Both sides were brought to agreement on 90% of the items.
